Adoption Fees
What Is Included in the Adoption Fee?
Every dog adopted through our rescue receives comprehensive medical care, including:
- Spay or neuter (age appropriate)
- DHLPP vaccine
- Rabies vaccine
- Bordetella vaccine
- Lyme vaccine
- 4DX testing (heartworm & tick-borne disease screening)
- Fecal testing and deworming
- Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
- Dental care as needed
- Microchipping
- Professional grooming
The cost of this veterinary care alone often exceeds the adoption fee. Our goal is not to profit — it is sustainability so we can continue saving lives.
Why Our Fees Matter
Large breed dogs require significant medical care, proper nutrition, grooming, and long-term commitment. They are incredible companions — but they also come with larger expenses.
Our adoption fee helps ensure that:
- Dogs receive complete, quality medical preparation
- Adopters are prepared for the financial responsibility of large breed ownership
- Our rescue can continue helping retired puppy mill dogs, animal control euthansia list dogs at risk, shelter pulls and owner surrenders.
We kindly emphasize that adopting a large breed dog is a long-term commitment — emotionally and financially. Food, routine veterinary care, grooming, preventatives, and unexpected medical needs can add up. We want every dog placed in a home that is fully prepared to provide lifelong care.
