Adoption Fees

What Is Included in the Adoption Fee?

Every dog adopted through our rescue receives comprehensive medical care, including:

The cost of this veterinary care alone often exceeds the adoption fee. Our goal is not to profit — it is sustainability so we can continue saving lives.

Why Our Fees Matter

Large breed dogs require significant medical care, proper nutrition, grooming, and long-term commitment. They are incredible companions — but they also come with larger expenses.

Our adoption fee helps ensure that:

We kindly emphasize that adopting a large breed dog is a long-term commitment — emotionally and financially. Food, routine veterinary care, grooming, preventatives, and unexpected medical needs can add up. We want every dog placed in a home that is fully prepared to provide lifelong care.

Adoption Fee Structure

Adult Dogs (18 months and older):
$600

Dogs Under 18 Months:
$800
Includes a $150 reimbursement upon proof of spay or neuter completion (if age appropriate at time of adoption).

All adoption fees apply to fully vetted dogs.

Our Commitment to You

We are deeply connected to our adopters and remain a support system long after adoption. Every dog is placed under a binding lifetime return contract, meaning if circumstances change, the dog always comes back to us.

Adopting from The Red Barn Goofy Newfy Rescue means becoming part of a community committed to responsible, ethical rescue and lifelong dedication to our dogs.
